Admiral becomes part of the fabric of Cwmbran dance school

South Wales employer Admiral has donated £500 to Cwmbran based Annette’s School of Dance, through its long running Community Chest scheme.

The school used the money to buy fabrics and materials for costumes for their December ‘The Four Seasons’.  Nadine Moore, who works in Admiral’s Claims department, helps her sister Annette with the costumes.

Annette is the Principal of the school, which provides lessons to local children in ballet, tap, modern and jazz. They also put on dance shows every year. Nadine knew that because she worked for Admiral, she could apply for the Community Chest scheme to help with some of the costs towards the show in December. This year will be the third year that Admiral has supported the school through this scheme.

Nadine said, “I am very proud of my sister Annette. She has been running her dance school for over 30 years and always puts on amazing shows. She teaches so many local children to learn to dance and with this donation, we can inspire them to go further with some good quality costumes. I am really fortunate to be able to apply for this money over the past few years – Admiral has been great at helping us out with our shows.”

Although the school is a not-for-profit organisation, it still costs money to put on a show and with no support this simply would not happen. The school also likes to raise money for various charities at their shows, so the more help they can get with costs, the more money goes to these charities.

Admiral’s Community Chest scheme has been running for over ten years, and in 2015, has given just over £100,000 to local charities and organisations in South Wales directly connected to staff members and their families.
