Admiral kit out the Tigers
Rugby League Club, the Torfaen Tigers are playing their matches in brand new kit after receiving funding from local employer Admiral.
The Tigers who are one of the founder members of the Wales Rugby League's South Wales Senior Conference received the £700 funding for new kit after Club Treasurer, James Price applied to Admiral’s Community Chest Scheme which provides funding for charities, teams and organisations in which staff and their families are involved.
James, who works in Admiral’s Cardiff office, explains why he applied to the scheme, “The team were going through some major changes which included needing new kit and obviously everything comes at a price. I had seen so many good-news stories about Admiral’s Community Chest Scheme and how they help local clubs and I thought it would be a great way to pay for our playing kit.
“Having the Admiral logo on the front of the new jerseys when we play our games makes us feel very professional and it helps give us the image we are looking for, which the team are very proud of.”
