Admiral proudly supports Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend
South Wales employer Admiral is delighted to announce its continued sponsorship of Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend.
Wales’ largest annual celebration of equality and diversity will take place from Friday 24th August to Sunday 26th August. Admiral has supported Price Cymru since 2000 and as main stage sponsor and primary partner, Admiral has increased its support for this year’s event.
As part of the sponsorship, Admiral staff will be taking part in the Pride parade and employees of the company can win free and VIP entry to the Big Weekend, as well as helping as volunteers at the event. As in previous years, included in the entertainment line-up is the Admiral Inspire Choir and for the first time, an Admiral band will be performing on the main stage as well.
Admiral is also proud to support Pride Cymru’s #ProudToBeMe campaign. In the run up to the Big Weekend the company has been asking its employees to share their own #ProudToBeMe stories which have been published within the company and on its social media accounts.
Arianne Weekes said, “I’m proud to be me at Admiral, where the relaxed dress code means I can express myself to my fullest – even if that means wearing a Pride flag to work!”
Rhys Bevan said, “I have worked at Admiral for over 20 years and every day here has given me #ProudToBeMe moment. In a good way, no-one has really cared what my sexual orientation is – they care about what type of person and worker I am! Never has anyone in Admiral left me feeling embarrassed to be who I am nor have I been held back in my career choices. Admiral sponsoring high profile events such as Pride Cymru reinforces how diverse and welcoming my workplace is and why I am #ProudToBeMe in, or out, of work.”
Gian Molinu, Vice Chair and Legal Director of Pride Cymru said of our partnership, "Pride Cymru is absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful to Admiral for choosing to work with us and become our main sponsor in 2018.
“Admiral's public commitment and support to Pride Cymru’s work and everything we’re trying achieve says to us ‘Pride Cymru matters, the LGBT+ community matters, and we are proud to stand with you’. That kind of contribution is priceless.”
