Admiral staff club together for local animal shelter
Employees in Admiral’s Newport office held a fundraising day in aid of the local RSPCA animal shelter in Ringland.
After being contacted by RSPCA Newport Animal Shelter which was looking for donations and raffle prizes, four community spirited members of staff from the Admiral Claims department in Langstone Business Park organised a dog themed day of fundraising activities.
The small team raised £133 by preparing and selling hot dogs to fellow staff members and holding a ‘name the cuddly dog’ competition and through its Community Chest scheme Admiral matched the money the team raised. In total £266 was donated to the shelter.
With the money raised the team donated a raffle prize of spa day vouchers for the Celtic Manor for the charity’s fundraising day, purchased a selection of dog toys and gave a cash donation.
One of the Admiral team, Kayleigh Harris said, “When the shelter contacted us asking for donations, I knew we could help. The staff in Admiral Newport are always happy to get behind a good cause and they certainly didn’t let us down this time.”
Deborah Simmonds from the Newport Animal Shelter said, “Thank you so much to Kayleigh and the team from Admiral for supporting the animals in our care at the Newport Animal Centre.
“When Admiral replied to our request we were chuffed to bits! The raffle prize for The Celtic Manor was our main prize for our fundraising day and the dogs really loved their new toys.”
