Admiral staff give something back to Ty Hafan

Admiral’s Communications team spent an afternoon volunteering to upcycle furniture and make crafts at Handcrafted by Ty Hafan. The crafts made were sold to help raise vital funds for the charity.

These special workshops take place in the grounds of Ty Hafan’s hospice, overlooking the Bristol channel. Workshop participants can learn to sew, paint furniture, make jewellery or keyrings and create cards.

Penny Collins who runs the Handcrafted by Tŷ Hafan workshops, said: “We’re all about engaging as many people in the community as possible. One of the things we do is engage with local businesses. They get an opportunity, by coming to one of our Handcrafted workshops, to do a really nice team building exercise. The things that they make we then sell and that money goes towards Ty Hafan’s funding.”

Chloe Jones, who works in the Communications team in Admiral, said “This has been a really good experience for everyone here today. It’s so different to a normal day in work and we get to give something back.”

The Handcrafted by Ty Hafan workshops are open to local businesses who want a team building afternoon with a difference. Contact Penny Collins on 029 2053 2266 or email
