Admiral Steps Up to Spread Christmas Cheer in Cardiff
This year the large Christmas tree that stands proudly outside Cardiff Castle will be kindly donated by Admiral.
The Cardiff-based insurance specialist stepped forward after it was agreed that Christmas trees would need to be funded by sponsorship due to the budget cuts the Council faces.
Admiral have come on board and agreed to support the costs to purchase, install and remove the tree.
Cabinet Member for Community Development, Co-operatives, and Social Enterprise, Cllr Peter Bradbury said: “We are very grateful to Admiral who are sponsoring the city’s Christmas Tree this year. The financial pressures affecting local authorities have put tremendous strain on our budgets. We have to look at new ways of doing things this is a great example of that sort of community spirit. I’m delighted, and I’m sure everyone in Cardiff is delighted, Admiral have agreed to fund the Christmas tree."
Admiral’s Chief Financial Officer, Geraint Jones, said “ The city centre would not be the same without the Christmas tree outside Cardiff castle, so when we heard it might not be there, we were only too happy to help. It’s a great opportunity for us to show our support to the local community, which many of our staff are a part of, and we look forward to seeing the tree go up in November.”
Step Into Christmas see’s the city centre undergo a spectacular transformation with a cornucopia of Christmassy characters, music and entertainment. Entertainment and attractions include appearances by children’s favourites Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from the Octonauts at intervals throughout the evening outside St David’s Hall.
