An early football finish at Admiral
As a proud Welsh company, Admiral will be closing its Cardiff, Swansea and Newport offices early on Wednesday (6th July) to allow staff to enjoy the Wales v Portugal Euro 2016 semi final.
Staff in Admiral’s contact centres work shifts, with some due to finish at 10pm. However, due to the enormity of Wednesday’s game and how Wales’ journey has gripped the company, it was a straightforward decision to close at 7pm.
This will mean that over 600 staff get to leave the office early so they can get ready for kick off.
CEO, David Stevens, commented, “Our offices are awash with staff in Welsh football shirts and all the talk is about how brilliantly the Welsh team have performed at Euro 2016. So we wanted staff to enjoy this historic occasion and closing the office early was a great way for them to do this.
“We’re not forgetting about customers, as our staff and partners outside of Wales will be covering calls. We owe them a big thank you for supporting their colleagues.
“We wish the Welsh team good luck for the game.”
For the earlier games in the tournament Admiral staff have been able to watch the games in the office, with many departments running friendly competitions where different teams adopted different nations from the tournament.
