Mr X Appeals to Admiral

Admiral staff have donated over 2,500 Christmas presents to over 1,200 disadvantaged children in the Swansea area, through the Mr X Appeal. On average, all staff who took part donated at least two presents for their chosen child.

This number is the highest ever donation from Admiral to the appeal. In Cardiff, donations came from all over the Admiral Group, including hundreds of presents from Confused.com. Confused have a total of 240 staff and collected 339 presents between them. When the Mr X Appeal collected the presents from Confused.com’s office, they lined three floors with the gifts and sang Christmas carols as they were being collected.

The Mr X Appeal in Admiral is co-ordinated by Angela Macdonald in the New Business department, alongside colleague Lesley Rees, plus many of their little helpers throughout Admiral. Angela has been promoting the Mr X Appeal in Admiral for fifteen years and has seen the number of gifts received grow every Christmas.

Angela said, “It has been wonderful to see my colleagues donating presents throughout the years and this year staff have gone above and beyond. The thought of a child going without a gift at Christmas just resonates with so many people. Our staff have been very generous with their gift donations, some giving a whole bag of presents to their chosen child.”

“Christmas would now not be the same at Admiral without the Mr X Appeal. It fills me with pride when I see all those presents stacked up in our office ready to be given out to the children. I’m very happy so many Admiral staff want to be a big part of this cause.”

Signing their cards “With love from Father Christmas”, each staff member who donates a gift, gets given the first name, gender and age of a child who would otherwise go without a Christmas present. There is no minimum or maximum spend and staff members are very charitable, in fact many donated large gifts, such as tablets, games consoles and sports equipment.
