Playgroup parties thanks to Admiral

Children from Christchurch Playgroup in Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, have benefited from parties, outdoor trips and music therapy, thanks to local employer Admiral.

Admiral donated over £500 to the playgroup, through its long running Community Chest scheme. Nathaniel Philip, who works in Admiral’s Claims department, wanted to give something back to the place that his son and daughter both attended for three years.

The funding went towards a number of activities that Christchurch Playgroup would not otherwise be able to afford, such as a trip to a model train centre; party entertainment; music therapy and educational animal handling visits.

Nathaniel said, “The staff at Christchurch playgroup are exceptional. They are so good with the children, helping them to build confidence ready for when they go to school. I am very grateful that both my children got to go there. It is not government funded and relies solely on nominal funding from parents and guardians, so it’s such a privilege to be able to help them provide these special activities for the children.”

Playgroup Leader Debbie Munton said, “Admiral has saved the day for us! The funding has enabled us to go ahead with some of this year's activities for Playgroup and we are very grateful for this. All of these activities are local to us, so by providing this funding, Admiral has not only helped the children, but has given back to local companies in the area as well. On behalf of the children, staff and our numerous volunteers, I would like to say a big thank you!”

Admiral’s Community Chest scheme has been running for over ten years and gives thousands of pounds annually to local charities and organisations in South Wales.
