In 1998, former CEO Henry Engelhardt set up Admiral Group’s community giving fund, to help staff and their families who are involved with local charities, clubs and organisations.

Staff members can apply to Admiral Community Chest for funding for an organisation they or their direct family members are involved with. The scheme has been running for over 10 years and in that time we have been able to contribute to well over 800 charities and organisations.

Our employees also do a lot of fundraising in work for charities close to their hearts, as well as volunteering for local organisations. Through Community Chest the company will match the money our staff raise for charities.

Some of the organisations that have benefited from Community Chest funding include:

  • Llanyravon Primary School  for a new sandbox in the playground
  • Westend Ladies Netball Team for new kit
  • Christchurch School  to help with the cost of two coaches to take pupils on a school trip
  • Tiny Tots Godgrergraig Playgroup for play equipment and water toys
  • Welsh Korfball Association for their home kit
