27 Nov 2017
Elephant Insurance, the Henrico-based direct-to consumer insurance specialist, is pleased to announce Alberto Schiavon as its new CEO.
Schiavon, 31, has worked for the Admiral Group, Elephant’s parent company headquartered in the UK for the last five years in number of senior positions. Schiavon, originally from Venice, Italy, joined the Group in 2012 as an International Pricing Manager. More recently he has been UK Director of Sales and Marketing. Schiavon moved to Richmond in March 2017 to head up Marketing and Pricing.
Schiavon takes over from Henry Engelhardt, the co-founder and former CEO of the Admiral Group, who recently stepped out of retirement to temporarily lead Elephant in March 2017.
"I’m excited to lead Elephant as we continue to innovate, grow, and offer the best service to our customers," said Schiavon. "We have a very talented herd, both in Richmond and in Dallas, and I know we will achieve great things with this team."
Elephant announced in October a pay increase that affected over 350 of its staff.
Elephant is also currently recruiting for positions in both its Dallas and Richmond locations.
