Since we were established in 1993 we have always used our skills and resources to make a difference to the local communities where we operate.
We encourage and support our colleagues to donate their time and skills to support sustainable communities. We are really proud of our colleague-led approach which means our people identify and select the local charities and organisations which we collaborate and build relationships with, helping us create a positive impact on the wider society.
This includes sponsorship of local organisations and initiatives which we have always seen as a valuable part of our business strategy.
You can find further case studies on the communities we support in our latest Annual Report.

Better, together
All our colleagues are empowered to use up to two full working days to Make A Difference in their communities through volunteering or charity work.
Colleagues from one of our UK Claims teams volunteered with Llamau, whose mission is to end homelessness, with a focus on young people and women and their mental health.
Sophie, a Team Manager in Claims, shares her experience:
“What a fantastic opportunity to be able to support a local charity during working hours and spend valuable time together as a team.
When we reviewed the list of Admiral’s charity partners, one of our colleagues on the team, Mitchell, mentioned that he had used Llamau’s services as a teenager. It instantly became the obvious choice: we knew we had to support Llamau, as they had previously supported Mitchell.
We visited one of their youth centres in Cardiff where we tidied up their garden and spoke to the young people who live there.
During the day, Mitchell shared his story with a member of staff at the centre, and by the end of the day, he had become their newest Ambassador for Learning.
Mitchell and I were then invited to attend Llamau’s annual awards, where he shared his experience with the attendees, and presented an award. This was a full circle moment for Mitchell as he shared the challenging times he had been through, while reassuring that it can and will get better. We are all incredibly proud of Mitchell for his courage, determination and bravery in sharing his experience.
But this is just the beginning – our journey does not end there: Mitchell has already been asked to attend another event with Llamau as an Ambassador, and our whole team will be returning to the Cardiff centre soon.
The experience has been emotional, humbling, and eye opening. As a team, and as an individual, we look forward to our continued relationship and support with Llamau.”
